Warbirds - Ariah Park Dinner Train

Saturday 21 November 2015
Time: 7pm - 10.30pm
Temora to Ariah Park
Tweet
Top off the Warbirds Weekend by enjoying this authentic heritage dinner train experience.
Share with your closest, a unique evening aboard this train with hand-crafted heritage carriages ranging back to the 1930s pulled by classic diesels.
Savour the wood panelling, sepia photos and a delightful set menu dinner experience recapturing the glory days of our rail past and historic Ariah Park.
The evening will start with departure from Temora Station at 7pm. Patrons will be offered a complimentary wine or juice and entrée on board by our dedicated crew of experienced volunteers.
The train will undertake a 66km return trip to Ariah Park – a village almost frozen in the era of the 1930s.
At 8pm at Ariah Park passengers will alight to enjoy a fresh smorgasbord. Some passengers will have their meal reserved at the friendly Bowling Club while others will have theirs at the Ariah Park Hotel built in 1906.
Patrons will also have the opportunity to visit some of the older buildings in the main street. These  will be especially opened for inspection including the Museum. Free guided tours relating to town’s fascinating history will also be available.
At 10.00pm the heritage train will depart Ariah Park. Dessert will be served on board before arrival at Temora at 10.30pm.
This will conclude the rare opportunity for passengers to experience a touch of old world hospitality.
The evening is primarily designed for patrons over the age of 18. However, should parents wish to bring children there will be a special area set aside for families on the train.
Drinks will be available at the Ariah Park Bowling Club and the Ariah Park Hotel with patrons own purchase.
No alcohol is to be brought on board the train by passengers during any part of the evening.
This one-off event has a limited number of total seats available for reservation for train travel and dinner.
The ticket price for the evening is $98 per adult and $69 for children under the age of 15.
The ticket includes:
• Heritage train journey with locomotives and carriages from Canberra Railway Museum arriving for the first time in the district
• Glass of wine or juice and set menu entrée, main meal smorgasbord and dessert
• Guided tours of main street features and history in Ariah Park
Tickets are available online at http://canberrarailwaymuseum.org/ariah-park-dinner-train
