Pucawan/Quandary/Dunnwell/Curragh/Glynburn History Group

Five districts are encompassed by the group, nestled in the western area of the shire. 100 years of history was recorded in the book Our Place, published in 2010, with a series of historic plaques also installed at sites of significance.

Panels installed by the group -
  • Curragh Public School 1927-1942
  • Pucawan
  • Dunnwell Public School 1931-1948
  • Quandary (Beaconsfield)
  • Glynburn Public School
  • Quandary Village

Publications relating to the areas -

The 2010 publication had the unique challenge of detailing the history of five districts, and the schools located within them, during the 100 years from the opening of the Pucawan Hall and the auction of 114 blocks of land which were to become the township of Quandary.

Our Place - Curragh, Dunnwell, Glynburn, Pucawan and Quandary, was compiled by Wilma and Ken McCubbin as a collection of stories, newspaper articles, drawings and photos from the Curragh, Dunnwell, Glynburn, Pucawan and Quandary areas.

Price - $35
