has been sketching the world around her for over 40 years. She has a passion
for colour, especially watercolour, and is a member of the Australian
Watercolour Institute. She is on the Education Committee for Urban Sketchers,
she has taught and demonstrated at some of the annual symposiums and sketched
with and taught many groups around the world.
During this workshop, Jane will guide participants through a range of sketching tools and techniques so get they comfortable with sketching on location (from life) - whether in the comfort of their own home or while travelling the world. Demonstrations will include pencils, pens, inks, brush pens, waterproof and water-soluble mediums, watercolour and brushes. Participants will also explore a range of sighting and scaling techniques to improve their sketching accuracy. Jane will even have tubes of paint on hand to help them set up their perfect watercolour palette.
Much of the workshop will take place in the studio, but we’ll also head outdoors so please make sure you have an appropriate hat, sunglasses and sunscreen and a comfortable seat or stool if possible. This is an experiential workshop - Jane will have loads of sketching and drawing tools and techniques for you to try - then you can buy just those materials that you love. She’ll have some available at the workshop.
