Sebastopol/Bagdad History Group

Four historic panels and a published book were the fruits ofthe labour of the group which detailed the history of the southern area of the shire.

Panels installed by the group -
  • Sebastopol Township
  • Bagdad Public School
  • St Stephen's Church of England Memorial Church, Bagdad
  • Bagdad Public Hall and Recreation Ground

Publications relating to Sebastopol/Bagdad -

The publication is described as a recollection of memories from the residents of the Bagdad and Sebastopol areas, both past and present, and their descendants, as well as a collection of information from various meeting minutes, newspaper articles, publications and records offices.

Researched by Ian Murphy, Grace Smith and Arthur Wallace, and compiled by Tracey Robinson, Bagdad/Sebastopol From Gold to Golden Grain is believed to be a good representation of life in the days of the gold rush at Sebastopol and the beginning of closer settlement in the district.

Price - $22
