Mimosa History GroupThe biggest achievement of the group was the publication of They Came to Mimosa in 2009, covering the history of the area in the south-west corner of the shire. Two panels have also been installed by the group to mark places of historic significance.

The book is described as a history of the Mimosa community and its people, compiled by Les Bagust and Laurie Wells, and published in 2009, coincidentally, 100 years after Mimosa School first opened in 1909.
They Came to Mimosa 1857-2009 was a community project embarked upon to record for present and future generations the history of Mimosa and its residents.
